(1)till和until 一般可以互换,意为“直到……为止”。

They waited till/until I returned.他们一直等到我回来。

I shall work till/until eleven o’clock.我要工作到11点。

We will explore every avenue until we find an answer.

我们要探索一切途径,直到找到答案为止。

By law, you are a child until you are 18.

(4)“not ...until”句式的强调形式。
